URBAN COURT HOUSE at Madurai, Tamilnadu, is designed with the ideologies of Tropical Modernism, a home with an amalgamation of both modern and traditional outlook. When one steps inside the entry foyer, planned as a double height space with a resting of exposed brick work seating under the cantilevered staircase. The exposed brick wall in the foyer designed with projected bricks along with the patterned skylights create stunning outlines of light and shade throughout the day. The foyer space enhances the glory of the home. As we move further the living area with exposed ceiling and triangle pattern on floor creates a rustic contrast, and leads to the puja space. The divine puja courtyard is designed with a traditional thinnai space and an experimental special wall with an impression of floral and leaves with bright skylights. The entire space becomes multi functional as it can be used for various activities of puja, meditation and an ambience for decent conversations. The house is posed with various levels making it interesting for movement. As a whole the outlook with white wall, modern boxing with openings and the interiors with traditional elements and experiments is a exquisite.
